Keep innovation & optimization to upgrade maritime equipment AFAI built and delivered 4 units 15m patrol boat

       On 4th November 2021, the first batch of 15m aluminum patrol boats for maritime system were delivered to Jiangyin, Jiangsu. The boats belong to Jiangsu Maritime Authority and were built by Afai Southern Shipyard under CSSC Yuanzhou.

       The delivery of these patrol boats will boost Jiangsu Maritime Authority to construct an integrative water transportation security system, promote its capacity of dynamic control and urgent security, provide efficient security to smoothness and safety in shipping channels and significantly improve high quality development in shipping industry.

       Protocol of Delivery is signed by Mr. Wang Xiufeng – Deputy Director General of Jiangsu Maritime Authority, and Mr. Han Bing – GM of CSSC Yuanzhou.

       Maritime Flags were awarded by Mr. Wang Xiufeng – Deputy Director General of Jiangsu Maritime Authority, to the directors of each branch.

       Other guests also participated in the Delivery Ceremony, including Mr. Jiang Wei – Manager of Infrastructure & Equipment Department of Jiangsu Maritime Authority, Mr. Chen Junjie – Vice Manager of Propaganda Department of Jiangsu Maritime Authority, Mr. Han Qi- Vice Manager of Overall Planning Department of Jiangsu Maritime Authority, Mr. Li Hongbing and Mr. Zhu Bo – Manager and Vice Manager of Jiangyin Maritime Authority, Mr. Sun Xinyu – Vice Manager of Nantong Maritime Authority, Mr. Li Zhuqing – Vice Manager of Yangzhou Maritime Authority, Mr. Chen Xiaoliang – GM of Afai Southern Shipyard, as well as other guests from the Authority, its branches and the shipyard.

       These patrol boats will represent major hull shapes of the maritime authority afterwards, with a LOA of 15m, beam 4.6m, propelled by dual engines and dual propellers. These have a maximum speed no less than 50km/h, with the endurance of 350km, which will be on duty under Beaufort 8 wind state and navigate safely under Beaufort 10 wind state. The boats adopt shallow V broken line slide hull shape as a basis, optimized together by Afai Southern Shipyard and Jiangsu Maritime Authority. On the basis of a good hull shape, the optimization significantly controls the weight and improve the interior arrangement, making the boats perfectly match the patrol requirements in inland water with their excellent performance and professional functions. After various tests and trials, the boats are approved with a maximum speed of 30 knots, rotating angle at full speed of 4 – 6 degrees, outstanding wave pressure, etc. With such advanced performances, as well as professional and modern equipment on board, the boats will, of course, provide efficient and powerful support to legal operation of the maritime authorities.   

       Highlighted by Mr. Wang Xiufeng, the Deputy Director General of the Authority, in the year of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC, and in the beginning year of the 14th Five-Year Plan to speed up a construction of strong transportation network, the delivery of these 04 patrol boats will certainly assist the second leap and high quality development of maritime industry in Jiangsu.

       Mr. Han Bing – GM of CSSC Yuanzhou, stated that on July 15, 2020, CSSC and Maritime Authority of Ministry of Transportation celebrated a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. The Agreement emphasized that two parties will strengthen strategic interconnection, policy intercommunication, and the interface of technical standards in the fields of marine equipment manufacturing and maritime supervision, aiming to jointly accelerate the construction of our country with strong transportation and prosperous maritime industry. The successful delivery of these 4 patrol boats is a concrete manifestation of the joint implementation of the Agreement by CSSC Yaunzhou and Jiangsu Maritime Authority. During the design and construction of these patrol boats, in the face of severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Afai Southern Shipyard did not stress the conditions and shows the responsibility of a state company, continuing ensure the quality and delivery schedule. Finally, with the great help and support under the Authority, 4 units of high-quality patrol boats are delivered.
