On September 28, 2021, when the National Day was approaching, Afai Southern Shipyard and Shanghai Goldsea Marine and Offshore Co, Ltd. signed a Contract for 1+4 units “Yu Feng Zhe” series high performance wind farm support vessels in Shanghai, celebrating the National Day andpromoting the development of green wind farm industry.

       The high performance aluminum wind farm support vessels will be designed on the strength of Incat Crowther’s mature parent boat, and upgraded and optimized according to the characteristics and demands of the wind farms around China and CCS rules and regulations. The boats have a LOA of 32m and a capacity of 12 people, will be equipped with imported main engines and CPP with a designed speed of 23 knots, ensuring her excellent seakeeping and maneuverability under bad sea condition. The first boat of this series will put into operation in October 2022.

       This is the 7th wind farm support vessel produced by AFAI after the 1st successful delivery to UK in 2018. AFAI gained high reputation among the shipowners with its high construction quality and accurate milestone control. The signing of this contract further consolidates the leading position of AFAI in the Chinese market in terms of construction of high performance wind farm support vessels. Based on passed successful experience, relying on the confidence and support of shipowners, AFAI will continue to offer better boats and services in the industry of wind farm support vessels.
