On April 23, 2021, a high-performancehybrid wind farm suport vessel promotion meeting was grandly held at AfaiSouthern Shipyard.

       More than 100 guests from 47 corporationsattended the promotion meeting, including Mr. Dan Knudsen, COO of MHO-Co fromDenmark, Mr. Qi Kai, CEO of ICBC Leasing Ocean Engineering, Mr. Cai Liancai,General Manager Assistant of COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd., LiNengbin, Director of Offshore Industry Development Research Center, WaterTransport Research Institute, Ministry of Transport, Mr. Wu Zhanzhong, DeputyGeneral Manager of Fujian Offshore Wind O&M Technology Co., Ltd., XingJiuhui, Deputy General Manager of CGN New Energy South China Branch, Chen Ke,General Manager of Dongfang Wind Power New Energy Technology (Chengdu) Co.,Ltd., Wang Guanghui, Qianzhan Port of China State Power Investment Corporation,Deng Guohai, General Manager of China State Power Investment Heiner Energy Co.,Ltd., and Wang Shiyan, Business Manager of DNV.

       Mr. Han Bing, General Manager of CSSCYuanzhou (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., delivered an opening speech, warmlywelcoming all the guests to participate in the promotion conference andsincerely appreciating the partners who have supported AFAI for a long time. Headded that AFAI will continually be based on excellent quality, oriented bycustomer demand, and driven by positive innovation, providing high-qualityservices to home and abroad shipowners.

       At the meeting, Mr. Chen Xiaoliang,General Manager of AFAI, introduced different types of wind farm servicevessels built by AFAI for different clients. He gave a comprehensiveintroduction to high-performance hybrid wind farm service vessels, and fullydemonstrated the characteristic of internal and external appearance, ship performancesuperiority, the composition of power system, the selection of main equipment,design and selection of pushing component, general layout of the whole ship,etc.

       Mr. Dan Knudsen gave a summaryintroduction to the construction of high-performance hybrid wind farm supportvessel, and shared the experience of wind farm service management in Europe.VOLVO PENTA, the famous company of marine power equipment, and DANFOSS, thecompany for marine power system,, also gave keynote speeches on the company’s introductionand equipment performance.

       Afterwards, the participants boarded MHOASGARD, the high-performance hybrid wind farm support vessel, for a visualvisit. They highly praised the construction quality of the vessel and showedgreat interest in the design of many professional performances.

       As a company that builds and exportsthe largest number of aluminium alloy ships in China, Afai Southern Shipyardactively responds to the national requirements of “Peak Carbon DioxideEmission” and “Carbon Neutrality”, actively participates in the development andutilization of domestic and international new energy industry. Taking Europeanhigh-end wind farm support vessel as a breakthrough point, AFAI hassuccessively undertaken the construction of 6 vessels, and fully grasped thekey points and characteristics of its construction. As a result,  AFAI could better provide high-quality andhigh-performance wind farm service vessels for domestic and international shipowners, which would leads the development of Chinese wind farm service vesselwith excellent construction technology. This promotion meeting held by Afai, isaimed at sharing the European advanced wind farm service concept, working withpartners to promote high-quality development of Chinese wind farm serviceindustry. The participants all expressed that this meeting was full ofknowledge. They have learned a lot, and have a new understanding of theperformance and concept of this kind of WFS vessel.
