From the very start of year 2019, it has been a success for Afai Southern Shipyard, as the company won a contract for building one 40m coastal aluminum catamaran high speed passenger ferry with capacity of 199 passengers, from the ship owner Quanzhou Maritime Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. During the contract signing ceremony in ship owner’s office, Mr. Shi Jianxi, the board chairman of ship owner’s company, and Mr. Chen Xiaoliang, the general manager of builder, signed the ship building contract.

The ferry is designed with LOA40.15m, beam 9.3m, molded depth 3.4m, full load draft 1.35m, capacity 199 passengers, contract speed not lower than 30 knots and Classification CCS. All aluminum structure, double engine and water jets will be adopted. Comfort, good seaworthiness, sea keeping and stability are also considered in design. Considering the route characters and passenger needs, wider interior passage ways and more embarkation and disembarkation are arranged in business class cabin.

The ferry will become the first new building high speed passenger ferry on Quanjin Route, which has great political and economic importance. After come into use, the ferry no doubt will be a beautiful landscape of the route and brings best effects to the ship owner and the route.
