Two aluminum monohull high speed workboat were launched successfully on 28th April 2020. The boats, relatively named “Guangzhou Port Pilot No.3” and “Guangzhou Port Pilot No.5”, were custom built by Afai Southern Shipyard for Guangzhou Port Pilot Station.

      The project consists of two all aluminum workboats, with LOA 21m, beam 6m, designed draft 1.25m, designed speed 22 knots, raked bow stem, monohull, single deck and equipped with double engine and double propellers, which can meet the work requirements under tough sea condition. Her “deep V” shaped hull with special wave suppression profiles at bow will highly improve her seakeeping capacity, safety and maneuverability, further to improve her navigation speed, stability and economic effectiveness. This project is developed by Guangzhou Port Authority to speed up the integration of Greater Bay Area, to develop pilot business and mainly to meet growing demand for transport of pilot officers and guidance of ships in the port.

      The representatives of Guangzhou Port Authority, including the Secretary and Director General Mr. Chen Hongxian, Chief Investigator Mr. Lian Jianli, Director of Water Transport Department Mr. Fu Weiquan and Vice Director Mr. Wu Taiyun, the representatives of Guangzhou Port Pilot Station, including Station Manager Mr. Wang Wei, Secretary Mr. Xu Zhaojie, Vice Manager Mr. Lu Jianhua, the representatives of CCS, including Vice General Manager Mr. Yu Ling, Manager of National Vessels Inspection Department Mr. Hu Zhuo, witnessed the launching ceremony, along with the General Manager of Afai Southern Shipyard Mr. Chen Xiaoliang. The representatives visited the vessel on board after launching and highly recognized the construction quality and workmanship of Afai Southern Shipyard.
