In the early morning of October 13th, 2018, with the command of trial commander, the modern fashion “NEW AGE” leaved the mooring quay of shipyard and set sail to the trial area in the morning light.

At 10 o’clock in the morning, the NEW AGE arrived at the sea trial waters and trials began according to scheduled plan. Approved by tests, the maximum speed reached 30 knots and average 28.22 knots; rotation heeling angle at full speed was stabled at 5 degrees; under 85% load power of main engines, the noise level was stabled at 61.3db in aft work area of main deck, the cabin nearest to engine room, and maintained 60-55db in other areas. In addition, the results of crash stop test and astern test are in line design requirements and much higher than the standard of CCS rules, which is fully approved by CCS surveyor. The maneuverability and comfort of vessel are highly recognized by the captain and shipowner as well. With good cooperation between the parties, NEW AGE completed its sea trial smoothly and returned at sunset.

NEW AGE is the first all-aluminum monohull high speed vessel in China according to the standard and rules of passenger vessel. It was designed by BMT, a famous ship design company in UK, built by AFAI for Qingdao Port (Group) Co., Ltd, with LOA 40.08m, beam 8.70m, draft 3.85m and propulsion system of double engines and double waterjets.
