On December 22, Afai successfully completes the official sea trial of the catamaran fast ferry HAI QIN, which Afai designed and built for Zhuhai High Speed Passenger Ferry.

During sea trial, full load speed is 38 knots, which is much higher than design speed 34 knots. And also other performance and test approved by CCS. The clients are very satisfied with the speed, stability and maneuverability.

The boat HAI QIN with the length of. 41.5m, width 10.3m, and depth 3.64m, driven by twin MTU engines and Rolls-Royce water jet, is the fastest passenger ferry built in China of twin engines and water jets. The basic design is done by Coco Yachts Holland BV, the joint venture company Afai established in the Netherlands and class survey design and construction design is done by Afai Technology Center. The boat is equipped with the latest type of Rolls-Royce water jet, which is the first time in Chinese shipyard.

HAI QIN with unique design and streamlined hull brings good sea keeping and quickness; low fuel consumption brings good economic benefits and environmental benefits. The wheelhouse broad field ensures the comfort and safety. HAI QIN is the first ferry Afai built of CC-300 fast passenger vessel type, also the first in Chinese market.
