The welding is a very important link in the process of aluminum shipbuilding, whether the workers’ technology can reach the welding technology requirements, need to be tested by strict examination, in order to keep the company’s core competitiveness, also provide a promotion platform, recently company’s Examinations Board organized one internal welder grade examination, totally 46 qualified staffs entered for the examination.

The examination was strictly implemented in accordance with 《Rules on Welder Technology Grade Examination 》 drew up by our company, and the exam scope is from three grade to eight grade, divided into MIG welding and TIG welding, as long as the staffs applying for welding examination passed the welding theoretical knowledge examination and reached eighty scores or above, can attended the skill practical examination of corresponding grade. The preparation of examination is tight, it is stipulated that the examination material is made from magnalium, and marked corresponding steel no., to ensure no fraud to occur during the examination process, implemented anonymous test plate. The skill practical examination was mainly divided into four steps: firstly graded to the welding surface by the company’s supervisors; Secondly check if exist defects by radiographs; Thirdly carried out bending test to the test plate; Fourthly, Graded to the grade examination according to the test results by the supervising team.

There are 25 welders passed the examination and were promoted, and the passing rate of the examination is 51%, the promotions were not easy.
